One of my favorite discoveries as a parent is that young children are great at warding off telemarketers. When my wife or I get a telemarketer call, we tell them we need to put the man of the house on. We then hand the phone over to Ethan, out outspoken three-year-old. The conversation on our side goes something like this, with variation each time.
“Hi.”
“Who are you?”
“Do you want to have a playdate?”
“Are you at work?”
“I am having a transformers birthday party.”
“Do you like leggos?”
“Are you a stranger?”
“If a stranger tries to take me I will kick him in the testicles.”
“Bye.” (Followed by Ethan turning the phone off)
Works every time.
